How to Use Emotional Direct Response Marketing for Highly Profitable Yellow Pages and Print Ad Design

The first proven insider business marketing strategy is to use Emotional Direct Response Marketing, not traditional Image and Branding style marketing and advertising.

 

This contradicts advice you will be given from any Yellow Pages or sales representative from any Media because they do not want you to be able to track your advertising. If you are not tracking your advertising, you are easier to sell more of the same advertising that does not work under the disguise of “getting your name out there”. But you do not want your name out there. You want your ideal target prospects to be calling you asking for your first time you can sell them your products and services. You want their name “in here.”

 

Let me tell you a story that will prove this to you. I went to college and majored in advertising and marketing. I excelled in my marketing classes to the extent that the instructor would say, “If you have any questions, you can ask Mr. Conn and he will explain it to you.”

 

In my advertising classes, we created Image and Branding style advertising for many local businesses as advertising projects. The ads I created in my advertising classes looked beautiful and I could not wait to complete college so I could get rich applying my advertising skills to build my businesses.

 

So when I completed college, I immediately began applying what I had learned to design Image and Branding style advertising for my new business. To my shock, horror, and amazement my advertising efforts failed.

 

I have spent the last 32 years searching for what makes advertising exceptionally profitable. I am writing a book about this, but the shocking truth of what my advertising instructors and all my advertising sales representatives failed to point out to me is this key point.

 

It takes hundreds of millions of advertising and marketing dollars spent before you can establish your Image and Brand in your prospects mind, and then it takes $50 million or so per year to maintain this image. Only huge multi-national corporations with BILLION Dollar marketing budgets can afford to do this.

 

These are companies like Coca-Cola, Target and Nike. They can afford to “get their name out there” and wait for the sale and the money to come in later.

 

Image and Branding will never work for small businesses because they do not have a billion dollar advertising budget, and they do not have time to wait for the money later. If you don’t believe me, take a pad of paper and write the logo or slogan from memory for just 10 local small businesses that are not national or multi-national corporations. If Image and Branding style advertising worked, this would be an easy exercise. But no one can do it because small businesses lack the money to establish their Image or Brand into the top of their ideal target prospect’s consciousness.

 

That is why ALL small businesses and practices need to be using Direct Response Marketing. With Branding and Image style advertising, you spend money and may never get it back. With Emotional Direct Response Marketing, you make back more than you spend, usually within 30-45 days! Any Branding and Image building should be a by-product, not the primary purpose of your advertising. The primary purpose of advertising is to increase sales and get new clients that will buy from you numerous times.

 

My Emotional Direct Response Marketing Yellow Page ads for my business made as much as $7.21 back for every dollar I spent on the first sale.
